If you haven't heard, there's an oil spill currently happening in the Gulf of Mexico. Two weeks ago, an offshore oil rig near Louisiana experienced an explosion, and later a fire, which eventually sank the structure, killing eleven rig workers. As if that wasn't bad enough, the sinking of the rig tore something loose in the actual drilling site, causing a massive leak which has been pouring hundreds of thousands of gallons (US) of crude oil into the Gulf daily (some estimates place it closer to a million gallons a day).
